Transferred from: Kettle Moraine High School (Wales, Wisconsin) to IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida)
Sticking with Wisconsinites who made the trip to IMG here, Kettle Moraine High School product Chase Spellman had a heckuva career with the Wisconsin D2 heavyweight Lasers, winning the school’s first state championship in 34 years as a senior in 2022, finishing with a ton of high school experience and production, and earning a FCS offer from Western Illinois along the way. However, Spellman wasn’t happy with how his recruitment played out, and announced he was transferring for a post-grad season at IMG in March of 2023.
His post-grad film shows a QB with great size and a big arm that can stretch the field and put noticeable zip on his more intermediate passes, as well as complete some of the harder passes on the route tree. Spellman displays solid accuracy, can climb the pocket and step up through pressure, can throw on the move, and will stand in there and finish passes through oncoming contact. The 6’4 signal-caller can run the read option, shows some quickness, and strikes an intimidating presence he tucks and takes off as a ball carrier. He will run behind his pads and can pick up big chunks of yardage to keep the chains moving. FCS Tennessee State took notice, offered up, and Spellman accepted in March. The Wisconsin product is heading to Nashville, another stop in his developing football journey. You’re making the Badger State proud, Chase!
