Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Carmichael contributed to the MOC-Floyd Valley cause in all three phases as a sophomore last season. The linebacker/running back registered 17.5 tackles, 15 of which were solo stops. He added a tackle for loss. On offense, he carried the ball 26 times for 198 yards (7.6 YPC) and a touchdown. His lone kick returns went for 10 yards, and he helped out elsewhere on special teams. Carmichael’s Hudl page lacks a highlight tape, but there are three videos with clips of him performing in 2025. As a running back, he stands out for his patience in letting his blocks set up and holes to open up. Carmichael changes directions quickly and cuts sharply. He understands when to hit the gas and can get going once in the open field. It’s a skill set that also plays well on defense, where the physicality also is needed. Whether he lines up on offense or defense should he play in college, Carmichael would be an asset on special teams.
