Love what Charlie Jilek Charlie Jilek 6'4" | 230 lbs | LB/TE Portage Central | 2026 State MI brings to the table. The first highlight shows an incredible, textbook run fit. Finds the hole, explodes into it, and lays a massive hit on the RB. Second, a great grab on the slightly high ball in the endzone- really shows Charlie’s potential as a redzone target. Finally, 0:24 (and other plays) show great blocks. Charlie looks like he was on a mission last week.

This would be a good season-long highlight tape. The fact that Charlie made so many eye-popping plays in week 1 is impressive. Can’t wait to see how far Portage Central will go with Charlie Jilek Charlie Jilek 6'4" | 230 lbs | LB/TE Portage Central | 2026 State MI playing like this.

Physicality.

Cheating a little here, because I beleive he’s committed to UCF as a Tight End.

Either way, I love Charlie’s physicality. Someone tries to block him? Charlie lays down a shoulder and makes them think twice. Try to run through him? Don’t even think about it.
Being physical is a lot easier said than done. Listen, I played Rugby in college, and I learned first-hand that when I’m tired, it’s really hard for me to be physical. It’s obvious that Charlie is extremely well-conditioned, not afraid to hit, and he’s just flat-out fearless out there. Whatever position Charlie plays in college, his physical mentality should carry him a long way. College Football will be a massive step up in competiton, but as long as he keeps his edge, he’ll succeed.

BIG Jump for Charlie. I seriously love so many aspects of his tape. Plus, he seems more athletic than similar-sized Power 4 prospects.

Charlie has two things that makes him stand out; great size and physicality.
Really, check those two boxes, and you have potential at the Division 1 level.
Offensively, Charlie is a great blocker. Good first step, lays into his opponent, and drives through the block. Really everything you could ask. One MAJOR question mark is his receiving game.
Defensively, Charlie is a physical, fearless linebacker. A couple instances of phenomenal reaction time, scrape, and finish.

Could be a great Division 1 tight end or linebacker.

I’m not sure what position Charlie will play in college (likely LB or TE), but I know that Charlie has the size and skillset to be an elite college linebacker. Half the battle is size and play speed, and Charlie has both. 6’4″ 230 is awesome size, and he plays with great confidence and physicality.

The one nitpick I have with Charlie is his explosiveness. He just doesn’t have an elite first step, and it takes him a moment to get to top speed. He also hesitates from time to time. Still, Charlie is incredibly physical, knows how to get off blocks, and has elite size. I like him a little more than consensus right now.

Late last year, Charlie earned an offer from Central Michigan. If you look at a few highlights from last season plus his Twitter, it’s easy to understand why that offer came to be.
Starting off defensively, Charlie showed flashes of being a phenomenal off-ball linebacker. Right off the snap, Charlie showcases fast feet and good reactivity. He’s a bit underdeveloped when it comes to overall reading, reacting, and attacking, but the play speed and effort are 100% there. Considering his 6’4″ 230lb size and long limbs, Charlie has phenomenal upside as an off or on-ball linebacker.
Offensively, Charlie has phenomenal potential as a Tight End. I’m especially impressed with the physicality Charlie showcased last season. As for his receiving game, he’s quite raw. I’d like to see more detailed routes and all-around more production in that area. All in all, Charlie is one of those prospects with phenomenal effort and play speed, who also has the size to be considered a Division 1 prospect. I fully expect to see Charlie take a step up this season, and I’m looking forward to watching it unfold.
