Another WI resident that showed out at the Winona State camp was Menomonie WR Charlie Behrend Charlie Behrend 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Menomonie | 2024 State WI . Charlie started the day off with a 30.7″ vertical jump. Where the 6’1″ 185 lbs athlete truly stood out was when the pads went on. Charlie had my best catch of the day in 1 on 1s. He was able to reach up and snag the pass with one hand without breaking stride. Charlie also caught my eyes with his quickness off the line. His releases made it hard for DBs to jam him. The receiver thrives when he can rely on his short area burst and agility over pure speed. He was able to consistently get open with his route running. He bumped his stock up in my eyes.

The 6’1″ 180 lbs TE/WR has been making a name for himself this offseason in the 7 on 7 circuit. That sent me back to his film. I believe Charlie is more of a WR at the next level, but in Menomonie’s run heavy offense he gets more opportunities as a TE. We get to see reps from him out wide and inline as a TE. From both alignments Charlie has repeatedly shown that he can get a good release with his quickness. Behrend always seems to find a way to get open. He does it with speed going over the middle,  and with his route running. His experience at TE has also allowed him to develop as a very good blocker with the power to pancake defenders in the front seven and out wide.
