About Cason

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

With every down, I bring 💯 effort. I’m aggressive on the field & thrive off the physicality of the sport. I am most importantly coachable and eager to learn more to master my positions.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality reflects a ‘straight business’ mental game. Although I enjoy having fun, when I hit the field, my goal is to win. I’ll do whatever it takes to overcome obstacles to reach my goals. I take my job seriously, and I work overtime to achieve excellence!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I currently maintain a 3.9 GPA. I take honor courses in school, & am a member of the FFA. I’m a multi-sport athlete in football, baseball, & shot put. It’s important for me to give back to the community, and I enjoy working with the younger athletes when called upon. It’s important that I am a leader on and off the field.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Teamwork is equally as important as individual skills. I’m a team player and can be versatile. I’ve played both offense and defense through the years in a variety of positions which gives me a wider field IQ. Recently, I enjoyed helping out with the youth football camp. I enjoy mentoring young athletes and watching them grow!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Not always the fastest young athlete, I have worked overtime on increasing my speed and strength. After years of hard work, I’m able to chase down the ball carrier, & keep up with the best of them. I continue to work on my strength, speed, and agility outside of school ball.

What type of college are you looking for?

My family is from Arkansas, so my first choice would be play college football in state. However, I am eager to play the sport and will go where the best opportunity offered.

During the playoffs, anyone can have a breakout moment, and this could be the moment when Roten catches the attention of college coaches. Roten plays sideline-to-sideline and can stack and shed at the point of attack. Keep an eye on him.
