The recent Illini commit is coming off a monster junior campaign leading the Olney attack up front. The 6’7″ 285 pound lineman helped his team gain 3,000+ yards on the ground while recording 62 pancake blocks. The is a right tackle with a huge frame and is super physical in the run game. Drives with his lower half and uses his length to grab on to the edge and move them back or to the ground. Seals well and can block on the move. Plays with a mean streak and does an excellent job of using his hands in the run game. Solid in pass pro displaying good balance and utilizing his long arms to keep defenders out of his body. Often time smaller rushers will end up on the ground vs the big right tackle!

when you turn on the film. At 6’7″ and 290 pounds, he has the blue-chip size and length coaches want at the tackle spot. He possesses good athleticism that allows him to excel in the run game, climbing up to the linebackers with ease. His long arms make it difficult for defensive linemen to get off his blocks. Thomann will continue to gain a ton of attention over the next two years in his recruiting.

Casey is a physical tone setter in the trenches. He has a powerful punch to pancake defenders and he is very aggressive as a run blocker. We see a lot of Casey’s reps end with him finishing blocks to the ground, usually downfield. Casey brings solid athleticism to the field in his huge frame. He has shown he can pull or get up to the second level. We also see the ability to stay square on his man while engaged and driving them off the ball. The sophomore does a great job of using his hands while blocking. His superior size always gets him first contact which he uses to quickly gain control. Casey is a big, aggressive, rangy OT prospect that should start to see things pick up soon.

Thomann is one of the most underrated players in the Class of 2026. The 6’7, 290 lbs offensive tackle out of Olney is as polished as it gets, especially considering his age. Thomann has all the intangibles of a big time college prospect, including size, athleticism, and technique. He is athletic enough to pull on GT counter schemes, easily working his way up to the second level to run over opposing defenders. In pass protection, Thomann’s long arms and quick footwork allows him to stay in front of oncoming pass rushers. Colleges won’t want to miss out on this Illinois rising star in Thomann.

Casey is on his way towards becoming one of the next top OL prospects coming out of the land of Lincoln. He already looks the part of an FBS OL with his long arms, and 6’7″ 270 lbs frame. You don’t need to play much tape to see that this kid is different. He still has that athletic build despite the 270 lbs on him already. Casey moves so well, especially at his size and age. He can explode out to the second level. There is no question about the strength either. Thomann is able to quickly overpower his matchup and reset the line of scrimmage downfield. I was very impressed by how strong and consistent his technique is. Wide base, hands inside on his defender, play with good knee bend and ankle flexibility. This kid checks a lot of boxes and is molding his game into an FBS level talent. This is a need to know prospect if you don’t know him already.
