Spark had to wait his turn for an Iowa City West program that’s boasted a good deal of talent in its secondary in recent years. The time working his way into the lineup was well spent based on this year’s senior breakout. After 3.5 tackles in 2025, Spark has caught fire this fall with a team-leading 50.0 tackles, 38 of which were of the solo variety, with 4.5 tackles for loss. He added a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Spark really clicked during an in-person scouting opportunity against Prairie this past Friday. The senior defensive back delivered a game-high 14.0 tackles with 10 of the stops being solo. He’s a good athlete with easy movements and ability to fluidly change directions. Read and reaction is quick. Spark reports a 4.65-second 40 and a 38.5-inch vertical jump. His weight-room numbers impress, especially relative to age. A projectable frame provides a nice ceiling for colleges interested in molding talent.
