About Carlos
Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A small-town wide receiver who lit up the stat sheet last year and did just about everything for his Trinity Christian team. Carlos Robertson Jr. certainly didn’t play like a freshman last year, catching 30 passes on offense for 724 yards and 10 touchdowns for an eye-opening average of 24 yards per catch. On defense, he made 24 tackles and 5 interceptions to go along with 9 more pass breakups. He’s a weapon on special teams with a kickoff return touchdown, and should only continue to get better and better at wide receiver. He’s a fantastic young pass catcher to know who is ranked as the number 3 wide receiver prospect in the state for the 2029 class.

Robertson is someone who has been viewed as a top player who can play both ways, but he has been viewed as a wide receiver in many people’s eyes. He is set to attend the event as a wide receiver and is the highest-rated wide receiver who is slated to be at the event. He is someone who has been viewed as a top prospect in the 2029 class as well. Watching him up close will be a pleasure, as he is someone who has all of the traits in the world and will be a college athlete one day.

The highest-rated wide receiver in attendance will be Carlos Robertson. He is rated as the 31st best player in the state for the 2029 class and is someone we anticipate will be at the top of the leaderboards when it comes to many things. He will likely be a fast riser in the state and will have the chance to prove that his skill level isn’t comparable to some of the other names. However, just like every position, he will have some stiff competition.

Carlos Robertson Jr. is a stud at the wideout position and he’s really one of those guys who can cause defenses issue after issue. He’s a guy you can throw the ball to anywhere on the field and he will make the play you want to see. Robertson Jr. is one to watch during the FSG!

is rangy in every sense of the word. He glides across the field like he’s floating, but don’t let that smooth stride fool you—he’s explosive. Standing tall with a long frame, this kid eats up cushion before DBs even know what hit ’em. The way he stacks defenders, snaps off routes, and high-points the ball? That’s advanced. That’s what separates him from just being good to being dangerous. He’s always open—not just because of his speed, but because his route discipline is crisp and intentional. Watching him play feels like watching Emeka Egbuka from Ohio State—a true technician with size, burst, and elite ball skills.
What makes this kid scary is his feel for the game. He understands timing, leverage, and spacing like someone way beyond his years. You throw it up, he’s going to climb the ladder and snatch it like it belongs to him—because it does. He’s got that quiet confidence, that “I know I’m better than you, but I’ll let my game show it” vibe. He runs a post route like it’s personal and blocks like he’s trying to make the highlight reel doing the dirty work. Bottom line: he’s a matchup nightmare in the making, and if you aren’t bracketing him now, you’re watching the scoreboard light up. That’s that dude.
