Pereira completed 15/28 passes for 286 yards and 4 TDs in Meadows’ 36-16 win over Lake Mead on Friday. The third-year starter has looked vastly improved through three games this season showing great development in both his passing and athletic skillsets. He’s shown growth in his pocket mechanics, looks more athletic on the run, and has improved his arm accuracy and strength. Pereira- the #5 QB in his class- is raising his stock early into his junior season.

Pereira showed some promising development as a passer from his freshman to sophomore seasons with Meadows. Passed for over 2,100 yards and 15 TDs in the fall, but also threw 11 INTs- a number he will need to cut down on over the coming seasons. Shows good accuracy to the middle of the field and the short-intermediate areas. Can get the ball out on-time with a quick release but could use some polishing in his footwork and mechanics from the pocket. Pereira’s continued to stay busy on the offseason circuit and will be a player to keep an eye on for continued growth as we get closer to his junior season.

Pereira was a new addition to Nevada’s 2027 watchlist after finishing among the most productive passers in his class last season. The 6’/165 QB totaled over 1,700 TDs and 13 TDs as a freshman for Meadows. He’s still developing mechanically but shows promising traits in his natural velocity on the ball and ability to move the pocket. Pereira’s a player to watch for continued growth and development from in his upcoming sophomore season.
