The SMB Wolfpack are back! The multi-school co-op of Minnehaha Academy, St. Paul Academy, Blake, and Hope Academy made a big-time turnaround last fall in Class AAAA, and in Minnesota, a lot of success can be predicated on the OL play. The Wolfpack have a promising sophomore guard in Calvin Reed Calvin Reed 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL St Paulminnehahablake | 2028 State MN , who debuts just outside Top 50 and as a Top 10 OL, which is a big deal in Minnesota, and something I shouldn’t have to elaborate on, given our tradition of OL development. The younger brother of Levi Reed, a 2026 Concordia-St. Paul football signee, 2028 Calvin started at guard for SMB’s turnaround season in 2025, and I believe the size, as Levi is a big kid who measures in at around 6’5, 255 lbs.
The RG can combo well and is laterally agile and able to pass off and find work in pass pro. Pass pro doesn’t need to be passive, folks! Check out the first play of Reed’s tape as evidence. The 260ish-pounder owns strong initial pop and can finish simple down blocks off the snap while showing off a ton of force and power in his hands and pads. Reed always works to finish, and he finds good hand positioning before driving, pumping his legs, and using his hips to easily get defenders onto the ground and on their backs. He’s also a quick puller who can fly out of his stance and break down in space to lay some serious hits on DEs and LBs and flashes a clean pass set and good overall foot speed for his size and age. Hope to see him on the upcoming Summer Camp Circuit around the Upper Midwest.
