He serves as a running back, where he rushed for 576 yards and five touchdowns (7.2 yards per carry) while also being the team’s leader on defense. He finished his sophomore season with three interceptions to go along with two forced fumbles and a recovery at the free safety position. Offensively, he’s quick on his feet, which helps him bounce and beat defenders to the outside. He’s also a patient runner, waiting for his blocks before hitting his holes with confidence. Defensively, he maintains his zone in pass protection and does a great job at angling his pursuit when flying toward the football.

Darnell is a good back who put together a strong showing last year. He runs with good vision and patience, letting lanes develop and showing the ability to cut on a dime and find the cutback.
