About Caden
Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
Oswald lost game-time due to circumstances out of his control, but the junior delivered when he was on the field. He rushed for 696 yards (11.0 YPC) and 13 touchdowns, caught a 12-yard pass, threw for three scores and accounted for a pair of two-point conversions. Oswald supplied 28.0 tackles on defense. Seventeen of those stops were solo, and he recorded 8.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. Oswald returned two kicks for 83 yards, taking one of them to the house, and averaged 19.0 yards on a couple punt returns. He also punted four times, averaging 33.0 yards. When we pop on Oswald’s 11th-grade highlight video, we witness the broad base of skills and athleticism that allows for contributions in so many areas. Dangerous with the ball in his hands, the Crusader standout combines speed and elusiveness to make opponents miss in space. His traits also work well in the secondary, where smooth hip movements lead to stickiness in coverage and an appetite for physicality results in success in run support.
