, he was the one doing the picking. Wagner will always predicate throwing the football versus tucking and running, yet it’s encouraging to see the junior passer utilize his feet. Defensive reps prove he’s a better-than-average athlete, rushing yards each week are icing on the cake. 500+ passing yards racked up already, I’m not surprised. Wagner is embedded in a historically talented junior quarterback class, yet I can’t help but feel there aren’t 24 better QBs out there after two weeks of PA football being played. We will see. Stock is rising.

Wagner posted a seven-minute-long sophomore tape on December 4th, 2023. Completed a successful playoff run as the man behind center for Redbank Valley. Threw for a whopping 45+ TDs, over 3,000 yards passing too. Tack on eight scores with his feet, Wagner cashed in on a prolific season. First few reps on tape showoff Wagner’s abilities to stretch a defense vertically. He operates out of 10 personnel frequently, five-wide sets are a staple of the offense. Wagner’s going to have to be comfortable and willing to push the envelope a bit in terms of deep shots, tape proves he can. Mulitple 35-45 yard bombs seen, albeit after substantial hitches. Can always tell apart QBs who have a pre-snap plan based on eye/helmet movement post-snap. Wagner is one of those passers who can move off initial reads a bit, it seems that way based on tape. Hits seam benders, posts, and skinnies that attack the middle of the field promptly. His demeanor/poise in the pocket might cause outside defenders to sleep a bit, he can burst out of his base and accelerate for first downs, often catching some defenders napping in space. Colleges will likely question if he can take a real hit at the next level, they might question 1A competition too. He’s a ways from worrying about recruiting though. Hopefully, Wagner is staying in the books and weight room, these should be the priority right now.

Wagner is the only 2026 quarterback according to MaxPrep to throw for 3,000 yards this past season, completing 181-of-267 passing attempts for 3,045 yards and 46 touchdowns with six interceptions. Wagner has good size at 6-foot-0 and 175-pounds and is still growing. He has a nice touch on his throws to all levels and shows quality arm strength that should continue to improve as he continues to get bigger and stronger. Can put the ball into tight windows when asked to as well. For Wagner, it’s going to be all about continuing to add strength. If he can continue to improve the zip on his ball and his arm strength, he’ll should get the opportunity to play at the next level. But the accuracy and decision-making numbers speak for themselves.
