‘s game is built on versatility. At 5’10”, 170 pounds, he lines up all over the secondary. Deep safety. Outside corner. Slot corner. He handles all three.
What stands out first is his recognition. Bonfig understands route concepts. He knows when to pass routes off, where his help is, and when to redirect to the next threat. His instincts consistently put him in the right spot.
He moves smoothly. His transitions are clean, and his foot speed allows him to stay in phase with receivers. He also tackles well. Whether coming downhill from depth or working in the box, he’s willing and reliable.
Bonfig adds even more value in the slot. He can mirror shifty receivers and handle quick-change routes. His football IQ allows him to impact multiple levels of the defense.
Currently ranked No. 60 in New Jersey and the No. 9 defensive back by Prep Redzone, Bonfig is positioned to rise. A strong offseason and another productive year should push his profile even higher.

A corner that I am truly impressed with,

shows many desirable and sought-out traits on film that will allow him to compete for playing time early at the college of his choice. As a corner, Bonfig is really athletic and can move fluidly and quickly in each and every direction. I thought he also had a very disciplined approach to tackling, especially when taking into consideration his run fits. Knowing big hits are what make highlight plays, Bonfig does not haphazardly run around looking to light people up, but is more selective and smart when taking a chance to lay a big hit. Between his ability to hit and his ability to tackle, he does an outstanding job delivering his body to the ball carrier, either making immediate stops or dislodging the ball completely. His smarts translate to understanding and playing to Pennington’s scheme as well. It appears that they play match coverage and Bonfig makes correct reads.

is like watching poetry in motion. Bonfig is blessed with a seamless and effortless ability to move in all directions with ease, quickness, and explosiveness. I feel as though his approach to tackling and run fits are extremely disciplined and you could make a clinic tape with them. Unlike many players who obsess with putting big hits all over their film, Bonfig understands that discretion is the better part of valor, only lighting up opponents when he has help near. The post-grad school prospect competes for every pass thrown his way – if he cannot contest it, expect Bonfig to deliver a hit and tackle on the receiver in hopes to dislodge the ball loose. To my naked eye it seems as though he has played match coverage, making quick and effective reads. As much as I like Bonfig’s tape and his game, I was left wanting to see him on film tested on an island deep and disengage with blockers in run support to warrant a higher ranking.

Braydon delivered a performance that, in my mind, earned him a spot among the top five defensive backs at the PRZ PA Combine. Built with a sturdy frame and powerful legs, he excelled at coming upfield quickly, chopping down with speed and intent. His aggressive hands at the line of scrimmage allowed him to disrupt receivers’ timing, often driving them backwards with a strong jab that caused the receiver to get off balanced.
Naturally a safety, Braydon demonstrated his versatility by showcasing his physicality and readiness to react. With his impressive blend of strength, speed, and awareness, he’s a player to keep an eye on this fall.

Braydon, a defensive back from the Pennington School, turned heads in 2024 with 41 tackles and two interceptions, building on an impressive sophomore season. An absolute athlete, he plays with the poise and confidence of an upperclassman, consistently standing out as one of the best players on the field.
While his physicality won’t fully be on display this Saturday, those who have seen him play know he brings serious force when delivering hard-nosed hits. Expect him to make his presence felt, even if it’s in a different capacity this weekend.

always seems to be in the right place at the right time to force a turnover. Picking the ball off 3 times at the varsity level, the Pennington defensive back excelled at breaking on the ball and dislodging it from the receivers hands. With quick play recognition, Braydon can close in on the receiver on the short routes, preventing them from making it to the second level.

I absolutely love when freshman make plays. That is exactly what Bonfig, a fresman at Pennington, did in a 28-14 victory at Peddie. In the game, Bonfig made 4 tackles; however, the 2027 graduate single-handedly killed three drives as he intercepted 3 passes in the contest.
