Brayden Hughes Brayden Hughes 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB St. Henry | 2030 KY exploded for 3.5 sacks for St. Henry against Holy Cross last week. He finished the game with 9.0 total tackles (5 solo) to lead the Bluegrass’ entire freshman class in tackles through Week 1. He also added a 31-yard return on special teams to his Week 1 stat line. Hughes also plays running back on offense, but was given one carry for five yards last week. For now, he’s getting a lot of looks defensively and has certainly made the most out of his opportunity so far.

Hughes is a physical young linebacker who looked right at home playing in the box. He’s strong at the point of attack and was able to get after the quarterback all night. In his first high school game, he put up 9 tackles and 3.5 sacks, which is about as good of a debut as he could’ve asked for. He didn’t look overwhelmed by the moment and just kept finding his way into the backfield. Hughes should be a name that starts finding its way onto more boards moving forward.
