Calhoun had a strong start to his year and made plays on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he rushed for 46 yards and his first touchdown while adding 5 catches for 38 yards through the air. Then he turned around on defense and finished with 10 tackles and a TFL. I like how many different ways he was able to impact the game and how comfortable he looked handling a lot of different roles. He's a versatile player with a high ceiling, and the other night was a good look at everything he can bring to a team.

Snyder looked the part in his first high school game and didn't seem out of place playing on the interior. He's got a big frame and held up well against varsity competition, and once he settled into the flow of the game, he started making plays and clogging running lanes. He finished the night with 7 tackles and 1 TFL from the interior, which is a really solid debut for a young defensive lineman. There's always an adjustment when you're playing your first high school game, but Snyder looked like he belonged.

Stevens is someone we highlighted heading into the season as a potential breakout guy, and he immediately backed that up with a big week one. He looked quicker and sharper with the ball in his hands and only needed 8 carries to go for over 90 yards and a touchdown. He made an impact on the other side of the ball too, adding a PBU and a forced fumble on defense. If week one is any indication, we could be seeing the start of that breakout.

Hughes is a physical young linebacker who looked right at home playing in the box. He's strong at the point of attack and was able to get after the quarterback all night. In his first high school game, he put up 9 tackles and 3.5 sacks, which is about as good of a debut as he could've asked for. He didn't look overwhelmed by the moment and just kept finding his way into the backfield. Hughes should be a name that starts finding its way onto more boards moving forward.
