Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
Another outstanding weapon for the North Oconee offense, Goolsby is a quick, elusive wideout who can also make big plays from the running back position. Not only is he shifty and can make defenders miss, but he’s also naturally fast and proved over the weekend why he’s one of the fastest prospects not only in the Athens area, but across the classification in the 2026 class. This playmaking junior ran an impressive 10.99 time in the 100-meters this past weekend and will likely use that speed to turn in a giant senior season for the Titans in 2026. He’s a still a sleeper prospect, but offers could easily come his way down the road.

One of the many talented North Oconee wideouts who helped lead the Titans to a state championship last season, Goolsby is one of the fastest receivers in the area who can line up all over the field. He can play on the perimeter, in the slot, or make plays running the ball out of the backfield. No matter where’s he’s lined up, Goolsby has the ability to make a big play any time he has the ball. He gets open, he’s a weapon down the field, and shows consistent hands when reeling in the ball. He’s one of the more underrated wideouts across the state bound for a giant senior season in 2025.

When it comes to wide receivers who can stretch the field, Braxton is in a league of his own. With a blistering 4.4-second 40-yard dash, this electrifying playmaker is the definition of a deep threat. Defensive backs struggle to keep up as he effortlessly separates with elite acceleration and smooth route-running. Once he gets a step on a defender, it’s game over—his top-end speed allows him to take the top off any defense and turn routine plays into explosive touchdowns.
Not only is Braxton a straight-line burner, but his ability to track the ball in the air and make plays in stride sets him apart. He possesses strong hands, fluid body control, and an uncanny knack for making contested catches when needed. Whether he’s running a go-route, a deep post, or a quick slant that turns into a footrace, he’s a constant threat to score from anywhere on the field.
With his elite speed and playmaking ability, Braxton is bound to have several college scouts on his radar. As he continues to refine his route running and overall game, expect his recruiting stock to skyrocket. He’s not just fast—he’s a game-changer, and any team looking for a true vertical threat should have him at the top of their radar.

Goolsby is a versatile playmaker who caught my eye consistently across all four quarters. Goolsby would line up at his traditional WR spot, but he would also slide into the backfield where he took handoffs from the QB. He is short and stout with a good speed profile, taking advantage of the yards available when given space to run. His footwork and sharpness in his cuts stood out most to me. He could quickly change directions and jump away from would-be tacklers, making for highlight reel opportunities with the ball in his hand. He is very difficult to catch, and his frame makes it even more difficult. He is a D1 playmaker and should start receiving those opportunities soon.
