is in the same position as Gray from Sulphur heading into this season. We’ve seen flashes of Antuna being dynamic in the Elgin backfield over the last two seasons. But he was also behind arguably the school’s best running back in program history. So the touches were somewhat limited. That’s not going to be the case this season and it would be surprising if Antuna isn’t one of the bigger breakout stars that we watch this fall. Not only will Antuna get more carries this season, but he’s also going to remain a major piece to what the Owls do in the passing game. Time after time, Antuna has made defenses pay, slipping out of the backfield and making big plays. We think that he will expand on that in a major way this fall.

is one of the most underrated players in the state but we don’t think that will last very long when the season begins this fall. Antuna has been behind one of the state’s best running backs the last two seasons. Despite that, he’s still been able to get into the game and produce at a high level in his limited opportunities. Now, Antuna is the unquestioned guy at the running back position. He’s going to be able to be an all purpose weapon that the Owls use every week. Look for him to be just as impactful in the receiving game as he is as a runner. It’s hard not to think his production is going to explode this season.

this fall. Over the last two seasons, Antuna has been the ultimate “change of pace” running back for Elgin as the Owls had the workhorse of all workhorses at running back. But look at the film and the numbers over the last two years and Antuna still found a way to be productive as a shifty back and as a receiver out of the backfield. Now, Antuna is going to be the marquee back in the Elgin offense and all eyes will be on him. The workload is certainly going to be elevated and we’re looking forward to seeing how he responds to that challenge when they take the field this fall.
