McDonald established himself among Nevada’s top TE prospects with his breakout season for the 5A state champs. The 6’1″/215 junior totaled just under 500 receiving yards and 9 TDs on 41 catches last fall. He’s a strong, physical target that can use his body to fight through contact and offers high-upside athleticism for the position. He’s often deployed in the slot with the receiving ability he brings to the table but shows his power and physicality when called on to block. He’s a technical route-runner, possesses the length and body control to extend his frame, and can make plays after the catch. McDonald is one of the top receiving threats among Nevada’s TEs.
McDonald picked up his first offer from Central Methodist this month. Spanish Springs’ junior wideout broke out as a physical playmaker totaling over 450 yards and 3 TDs on 27 catches as a sophomore. He’s a strong athlete at 6’1″/205 that can make tough catches in traffic and fill a TE/H-Back role with the frame and skillset he brings to the table. McDonald is a prospect to keep an eye on out of northern Nevada.
McDonald was a new addition to PRZ NV’s 2027 rankings in January and has continued to rise up the rankings in this latest update. The 6’1″/200 two-way player out of Spanish Springs has had a productive offseason thus far showing his natural size, physicality, and ability to box out smaller defenders at 6’1″/200. Totaled over 450 yards and 3 TDs on 27 catches as a sophomore and could develop into a future TE prospect given his frame and measurables. McDonald’s firmly on the northern Nevada radar heading into his junior campaign.
McDonald put his name on the northern Nevada WR radar with the explosive plays he produced for Spanish Springs as a sophomore. Totaled 27 catches for 467 yards and 3 TDs this season. Big, physical wideout at 6’1″/200 with strong hands and turns into a tough downhill runner after the catch. Still developing as a route-runner but flashes some deceptiveness in his breaks and can match physicality against press coverage at the LOS. McDonald holds some promising physical tools and should look to continue developing his receiver skillset and technique as the offseason gets underway.
