Gates got his feet wet this year and made a few plays. I believe he’ll be set to start this upcoming fall, and you can tell he’s been in the weight room. He’s put on about 30lbs of muscle over the past year and has started filling out his frame. He’s got a good burst off the line and doesn’t wander out of his lane. He made his first few tackles and TFLs last year, but that was with limited opportunity. Reitz is a good program, and he’s had to earn reps as they come, but he doesn’t seem afraid of the competition, and I think he flourishes this fall.
