There’s been quite a bit of shuffling around within the Top 5 throughout the past three updates. BJ Canady BJ Canady 6'5" | 250 lbs | DL Topeka | 2024 State KS is a prospect that’s been moved around within the group, and he sees another new rank, as he moves up one spot to No. 4 overall. Canady’s development has been interesting to follow. He’s been recruited as a defensive lineman since his sophomore year, but now he’s receiving interest as an athlete. Canady has shown he can be a two-way player; going back to his days as a quarterback. Given his size and athleticism, it would be interesting to see how Canady would fare at tight end as well. Topeka High’s coaching staff may experiment with Canady this season to create some mismatches.

BJ Canady BJ Canady 6'5" | 250 lbs | DL Topeka | 2024 State KS of Topeka High rounds off the Top 5 in this December update. An injury prevented Canady from completing his junior season, but his play through four games was enough to maintain his status as a top-ranked prospect. Despite the limited action, Canady still wreaked havoc on opposing offenses. Similar to his sophomore season, offensive tackles had trouble blocking the 6-foot-5, 245 pound edge rusher. Canady’s play has now earned him nine Power 5 offers, with the University of California and Tennessee being the most recent programs to recruit the 4-Star prospect. With plenty of time to heal before the ’23 campaign, expect to see Canady bounce back in a big way next year.
