Hodge is one of the best jump ball receivers / contested catchers in the state. The 6’5 230-pound tight end has 37 receptions for 477 yards and 10 touchdowns with 6 pancake blocks. Hodge has good athletic ability due to very good jumping, balance, good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. He has a very good release, especially the line release. His ability to escape hold up at the LOS and get into his route is beautiful. Good separation quickness. Very good ball tracking and catching. Strong hands to come down with finger tip catches. Very good ball adjustment and control. Hodge’s ability to adjust and still come down with the catch reminds me a lot of FBS tight ends. He’s a very good blocker as well. Using his very good strength to overpower the defender and win the block. Hodge is a dog, and deserves more love from the college side.

Hodge is a phenomenal tight end. Measures in at 6’4 205 pounds, the standout TE had 20 receptions for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns. He has very good athletic ability due to very good jumping, acceleration, good speed, and change of direction. Very good release at the line of scrimmage against both press jam and off coverage. Hodge uses his physicality against the LB or DB, and wins. He has very good separation quickness due to his athletic ability, play strength, and mental processing. IDs the void and exploits it. Very good ball tracking and catching skills. With contested catches, he uses his big frame to go up and make the play. If you need a first down or a big play, he’s your guy. Hodge also has very good blocking skills creating lanes for his running back or extra time for his QB. He deserves more offers in my opinion and I can’t wait to see him back killing it on the field this fall!

Measuring in at 6’4 205, the junior was catching everything thrown his way. He has very athletic ability due to very good acceleration, jumping, good speed, and change of direction. Hodge has very good catching and ball tracking skills. He used his very good athletic ability to create separation between himself and the DB. When the DB got physical, Hodge got more physical. Winning at the line of scrimmage or getting up high for the contested catch. He’s a great player and has very good competitive toughness. He gives his all on each play and during each drill.

Hodge demonstrates good separation quickness using his good athletic ability, mental processing, and play strength. He’ll out run defenders at the top of the route He will also ID voids in a zone to exploit, or get physical with the DB/LB creating extra room. Good catching, uses his length to come down with the catch. An aspect of his game that really stands out to me was his body control. He’ll go up and make the contested catch. Having watched Hodge at the Stock up Showcase, he has shown that he competes at a high level consistently. I’m looking forward to seeing what this season has in store for him.
