He displays solid pad level off the snap and shows an understanding of leverage, how to finish, and how to stay in engaged with a twisting and writhing defensive lineman in order to put him on his butt. Pederson is a physical, crushing puller and a bull at the contact point with some pop in his pads and first punch. If he sees or gets a DL off balance, Pederson smells blood, and he visibly fires up the aggression when he sees an opportunity to finish a block with authority. Plus, he reps experience in pass pro and isn’t passive, using a DL’s momentum against him, especially if he comes in over his toes and forward-leaning, and the Willmar product is noticeably aggressive at initial contact and in run blocking.
