PRZMN has had a lot of fun watching and scouting the Northfield Raiders in 2025, and if you haven’t been paying attention, the 507 5A competitor has been on a real hot streak on the recruiting trail the past two cycles. With back-to-back South Dakota State commits, Northfield is stocked with big, long, athletic, high-upside multi-sporters, many of whom are doing a great job of raising their recruiting stock in 2025. The Raiders, who are currently a lean & mean 4-2, have themselves a heckuva 2027 wideout in Ben ImsBenIms

Northfield | 2027 StateMN, a 6’3, 180 lber. who also competes in basketball and baseball for the Raiders, has popped off for 24 catches for 470 yards and 6 TDs in five games of action, and his regular season play this fall has elevated his stock so well that South Dakota State and North Dakota have reached out with gameday invites, Ims‘ first recruiting contact of any kind! Should be more of that coming the rest of 2025 and beyond.
Ims, who is obviously tall and possesses noticeable and imposing length on the perimeter of the LOS, is a contested catch machine who can make some ridiculous snags with defenders draped all over him and a smooth route runner to boot. Displaying explosive deep speed that can consistently threaten and take the top off the defense, Ims accelerates out of his cuts, especially when working vertically, and he does a good job of breaking off his routes quickly and without too much wasted movement. Shows good awareness as to where the sticks are and when he starts to work into a DB’s blind spot as well. I also like Ims‘ ball skills. The Northfield junior has a fun rep against Mayo where he beautifully high-points a back-shoulder seam ball to show off some bounce and soft hands, can use his size well when fighting through the press successfully, and his height and length are useful when playing the ball in the air. Ims is a tough, athletic kid who uses his size to his advantage and has a well-rounded skillset for a junior wideout sitting at a clean 6’2-6’3. PRZ is a big fan of Ims, his potential, and the rest of his junior year in all three sports.
