Austin Waddell Austin Waddell 6'0" | 230 lbs | LB Beechwood | 2023 KY has been on my radar for a while now and stepped up in a big way during the playoffs for Beechwood. He was the leader of their defense at middle linebacker where he did a great job of making pre-snap reads and communicating with the rest of the defense. Against the run, Waddell does a great job of reading his keys and coming downhill in a hurry once he sees where the ball is going. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he does a very good job of running his feet to secure the tackle and finishes his tackles with a nice amount of physicality. Waddell was named the MVP of the 2A State Championship Game after leading the team in tackles while also playing a key role on the offensive line. Austin doesn’t currently hold any offers but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some come his way soon as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level and has received some college interest.
