He lined up at defensive end where he caused a ton of disruption against the run. Rodgers uses his speed and high motor to his advantage to blow by opposing offensive linemen with ease to get to the ball carrier before they can get going. He does a great job of running his feet through contact to secure the tackle quickly and not allow any extra yards to be gained. Rodgers led his team with 81 tackles and 28 tackles for loss in 12 games as a senior. He also proved to be an effective pass rusher, finishing the year with eight sacks. Rodgers is committed to Kentucky State where I can see him being a key piece of their defensive line unit.

Rodgers has the versatility to play both defensive tackle and end where he is a dominant run stopper. He explodes out of his stance and uses his strength to fight through blocks with ease on his way to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he is a very good tackler, finishing last week’s game with a team-high nine tackles and four tackles for loss. He also showed the ability to rush the passer, recording one sack in the win. Ashton currently holds multiple offers and I can see him being a true impact player wherever he ends up playing at the next level. Rodgers and the Cardinal have an exciting game ahead of them on the road this week against Lexington Christian Academy.

Rodgers is very disruptive off the edge as a pass rusher, using his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles then finishing at the quarterback once he gets there. He currently leads 2A with 7.5 sacks in six games. Ashton has also shown that he can stop the run, recording a team-leading 47 tackles and 20 tackles for loss so far this season. Rodgers currently holds offers from Kentucky Wesleyan, Georgetown (KY), and Pikeville, and I expect more to come his way throughout the rest of his senior season.

He is a versatile defensive lineman, showing the ability to play both end and tackle. As a pass rusher, Rodgers explodes out of his stance and uses his speed to blow by opposing offensive linemen with ease on his way to the quarterback. He has 4.5 sacks through the first four weeks. Against the run, he does a great job of reading the play quickly then using his high motor to run sideline to sideline to make tackles in the open field. Ashton has accounted for 38 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles so far this season. Rodgers currently holds offers from Kentucky Wesleyan and Georgetown (KY), and I can see more coming his way soon.

Rodgers has an explosive first step out of his stance which he then converts into speed to blow by opposing offensive linemen before they have a chance to block him. He also showed a nice variety of pass rush moves which he used to defeat blocks with ease. Ashton doesn’t currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and I expect his recruitment to continue to heat up heading into his final season.
