About Arthur

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am quick off the line of scrimmage and twitchy with the ability to change direction when needed. I have been told I have violent hands and use those effectively. I have been playing football since the age of six, so I have a good Football IQ and consider myself the leader of the defense, being able to understand offensive schemes and communicate adjustments as needed for myself and teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would consider myself a quiet leader, as I'm not very loud every day, but I make my voice heard on the field and when it's time to lead the defense with my teammates. On the field it's about making plays and my mentality is about finding ways to get better. I also understand I must be at the top of my game in academics and athletics.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm involved in Project Lead the Way, a National Engineering Program. I was selected for a paid internship this past summer at the Naval Research Laboratory. I'm also on my local County Leadership Council.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I continue to develop skills such as time management, presentation skills and leadership skills in my roles of being a member of three varsity teams of football, lacrosse and wrestling. I also understand the importance of community service and giving back as I have over 50 hours of community service serving and working with homeless organizations.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had my first sports injury last year which forced me out of playing for half my lacrosse season. I had never missed more than one game since playing lacrosse and football since I was 6 years old. This was a lot more challenging for me than I would have ever imagined. Thankfully, I learned I had the strength to power through the physical therapy and came back stronger than ever.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a smaller to medium college, but I would like for the college to have a potential major of data science or engineering. I am willing to explore options but my preferences is the eastern, Midwest and some southern states.
