Despite the small sample size, I decided to include Elder in this group. Most of the throws in his early highlights are on schedule and short-to-intermediate. Elder gets the ball out quickly on slants, flats, and dig concepts, and lets his receivers run after the catch. Again, it’s a small sample, so he doesn’t have many five-to-seven step drops. Elder lines up primarily in the shotgun. More of an athletic quarterback than a dropback passer. However, he shows good touch on a few intermediate throws downfield. He’s on the lighter side, weight-wise, but it looks like if he wanted to, he could make a lot of things happen with his legs.
