Williams plays the safety position for Crofton. His first 3-game highlights are well balanced between defending the run and the pass. One consistent thing in both scenarios is that he lines up right in the box, close to the action. Williams is a physical, downhill safety with good range and willingness to hit. His highlights lean more toward run defense, but it’s still early in the season. Against the run, he transitions downhill with bad intentions and finishes tackles. Williams does a good job of breaking down and wrapping. We’ll likely see more pass-coverage reps in the final product. Impressed with how physical he gets with receivers when lined up in the slot. They don’t get a free run downfield, and he disrupts their routes by putting hands on them. Plays much more physical than you would think from a safety his size.
