Maiden has developed into an impressive quarterback with skills that are attractive to the next level. His 6’3″ frame and remarkable arm talent put him in a category of potential collegiate success. Maiden’s superb field vision, combined with his veteran-like ability to navigate the pocket, sets him apart. He’s not afraid to make throws into tight coverage windows and possesses great touch on deep passes, making him a well-rounded passer. Earning a state championship appearance in 2022 is a testament to his leadership and skills. His experience is certainly paying dividends this season. Additionally, his commitment to Memphis confirms that he has the skill set needed for success at the collegiate level, and these traits will help him excel in the future.

Maiden has a big arm, he has quick whip-like release with a clean over the top delivery, he has a strong base when he sets up in the pocket and he navigates the pocket with great awareness. His footwork is clean and deliberate, he is erect in his drop back and he shows superb eye discipline in the pocket as he moves through his progressions. Arrington has the athleticism to make plays with his feet when the pocket breaks down, his ability to extend plays and make accurate throws on the roll out are traits that stick out in his game and he keeps defenses honest in the run game by making plays with his feet in the zone read game. Maiden lead College Station to the 5A Division I title game in 2022 only to come up short versus the Aledo Bearcats. He had a phenomenal season throwing for 2,279 and 18 touchdowns. Maiden had a strong offseason, as he saw his recruiting take off, accumulating double digit offers from schools around the country but ultimately committing to the University of Memphis. You can expect Maiden to have the Cougars back in the mix to make a deep playoff run before heading to Memphis.

Maiden has superb pocket presence, when he sets up to pass he has clean footwork and he throws from an upright posture that enables him to have excellent field vision. Arrington can make any throw on the route tree, he navigates pocket traffic smoothly and has the skill set to make accurate passes on the move. Maiden has the athleticism to make plays with his legs and he has the speed to move the sticks. Where Maiden accels, is his ability to throw frozen ropes and his ball placement is exceptional. Maiden has the makeup of the next man up to come out of College Station High School and college programs have begun to flock south, as he is in the double digit offer club. With OVs upcoming to Memphis, Utah State and North Texas, look for Arrington to add to his list of offers through the summer.
