This summer we were able to catch up with Anthony and see that he was partaking in drills as an OL. That is something we have been predicting would be a future change for him. At the UWRF camp we were able to see him show him abilities in pass pro. That was a huge box to check as he did really well to use his length and his athletic base to be able to mirror and stay square in front of his man. We already have a high level of confidence in his power and run blocking talent as he has been asked to do that a ton at TE in the Union Grove offense. The athletic future OL is a big ball of clay ready for a college OL coach to take his game to the next level.

Union Grove has been one of the more fertile recruiting grounds since I began working with PRZ more than a half decade ago. The Broncos, whether their athletes ball out at our showcases, on the gridiron, or on the offseason recruiting trial, Union Grove prospects always seem to catch & hold the attention of our scouts. Enter 2027 TE/OL/DL Anthony Zimmerman Anthony Zimmerman 6'6" | 285 lbs | TE/DL Union Grove | 2027 State WI , an almost literally can’t-miss prospect who measured in at 6’5+, 262 lbs. with some solid juice on the athleticism front for good measure. Zimmerman, easily a First Team All-Eye Test and First-off-the-Bus selection from the UWRF MNWI Mega Camp, Zimmerman could change direction frighteningly well for his size throughout drill work, and his long arms were a giant help during 1v1s, where his balance, strength, and physicality shone through excitingly successfully during competition. Eastern Michigan, Augustana (SD), and MSU-Mankato are all involved right now.

It was great to see the Union Grove TE competing at OL at the Minnesconsin Mega Camp. That is where the standout 2027 best projects at the next level with his towering 6’6″ 262 lbs athlete. He has the build to potentially develop into a standout OT at the next level with his athletic lower body and strong upper body. The 262 lbs is so easily carried too on a frame that has the ability to get to 280+ easily. The 2027 TE/lineman is quick out of his stance. In pass pro it looked easy for him to kick slide or move laterally to stay engaged with the rusher. The powerful upper body was able to control DL when he locked his hands inside. Plus Anthony has a ton of success as a run blocker in the Union Grove offense where he was already playing as basically an extra OL at TE. Don’t miss out on this kid.

This is one of the most intriguing prospects in the Class of 2027. Union Grove TE Anthony Zimmerman Anthony Zimmerman 6'6" | 285 lbs | TE/DL Union Grove | 2027 State WI had a great frame as a sophomore, but as a junior came back even bigger at 6’6″ 285 lbs. That is perfect for the Union Grove offense where they want to run the ball early and often in games. Anthony is able to provide them with a major advantage in their blocking scheme. Whether it be winning with his power vs DEs/edges or using his athleticism to hook the end and break contain or get up to an LB. The big man is only getting stronger too, just recently hitting 315 lbs on the bench for the first time. The ’27 TE is just scratching the surface and could provide some great position versatility at the next level.
Anthony holds one offer so far from Eastern Michigan. This summer should lead to him adding plenty of others to that list. Check out the highlights.

Anthony might be the most versatile of the position, and because of it the most likely to even change position at the next level. The Union Grove monster plays TE and DE for the Broncos at a very high level. On offense they don’t go to the TE often, so instead the massive TE is utilized as an extra OL. The 6’6″ 285 lbs beast has that frame loaded to the max with violent power that bulldozes DL off the line of scrimmage. Because of his size and production in the run game I could very easily see Anthony being moved to OL and working his way into being a legitimate FBS OL. Whether it is TE, OL, or DL the 2027 athlete has the talent to play D1 football.

One of the most intriguing athletes in the state is Union Grove’s Anthony Zimmerman Anthony Zimmerman 6'6" | 285 lbs | TE/DL Union Grove | 2027 State WI . The 2027 TE/DE is now up to 6’6″ 285 lbs. The big man is right at home in the trenches too. He has been a constant contributor over the past two seasons with his run blocking prowess. The junior gives UG an extra OL the way he can fire off the ball, clamp his hands on, and run DL off the ball and out of gaps. Anthony’s sheer size, power, and dominance as a blocker make me believe his best ball, and highest opportunity at the next level, could come playing as an OL. Secondarily would be his play at DE where that same size, power, and wingspan are able to overwhelm OTs and easily shed them aside to make tackles. This is an exciting prospect who is just scratching the surface on what he could be. He is a big ball of clay ready for a college coach to morph into a constant contributor.

Anthony is an extremely intriguing TE recruit. He hasn’t been heavily utilized in the pass game, 7 receptions in 2024, but the massive 6’6″ 265 lbs incoming junior looks the part of a future Power 4 recruit. For Union Grove, Anthony essentially plays as an extra OL, devastating defenders on the edge with his power. Even at 265 lbs, Anthony has great footwork and quickness to be able to adjust and stay square while engaged with his man. Plus he does a great job of being able to drop his pad level and give himself even more of an advantage by winning the leverage battle. I won’t be surprised if we see a future change to OL. With his size, power and athleticism Anthony could turn into a Power 4 OL recruit. He is definitely an exciting athlete to scout and project.
