Gardner measures in at 5’11 195-pounds. The QB went 186/296 for 1991 yards, 62.8% completion, 15 TDs, 11 INT, 60 carries for 210 yards with 6 touchdowns. Gardner has good athletic ability due to good acceleration, speed, and change of direction. Good throw power with very good release. Gardner has good pocket presence. He uses his shifty feet to maneuver around pressure keeping his eyes downfield to find the open man. If no one’s open, he’ll use his scramble ability to get the first down. Gardner has good progression speed as well and maintains good accuracy as well. I’m very excited to see how he does his senior year!

Read EvaluationRobert Davis | Prep Redzone Scout
Gardner is one of the more efficient passers entering Round 1, completing 65% of his throws for 1,777 yards and 14 touchdowns. He’s also added 184 rushing yards and six scores, giving defenses plenty to account for. Gardner reads the field quickly and doesn’t hesitate to take what the defense gives him, a skill that will be critical against a strong secondary. Turnover control remains a focus after nine interceptions, but when he’s on point, Gardner’s timing and accuracy make him difficult to stop. Expect him to use quick decisions and creativity to keep drives alive and maintain offensive rhythm.

Gardner completed nearly 65% of his passes last season, but his 14 touchdown to 12 interception ratio leave area for improvement for him. However, he has the tools to turn things around and emerge as a rising prospect. A dual threat quarterback, Gardner possesses an explosive playmaking ability both through the air and on the ground, adding nearly 200 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His arm talent is next level, excelling in intermediate to deep throws while demonstrating the ability to fit passes into tight windows. With a breakout season on the horizon, Gardner is a name to watch as he looks to make a statement.

Gardner caught my eye during the 40-yard dash. He has very good acceleration and speed. Even though it was a 40-yard, he showed very good burst of acceleration needed to excel in game time. Gardner has a cannon for an arm, launching it to the receiver downfield. It didn’t matter if they were covered up by the DB, he was still throwing it in tight windows and succeeding. Very good release. Quick and snappy. He’s a dual threat option, able to pick the defense off with his legs. I’m very excited to see how Gardner does next year for Legacy.
