Newberry has good length on the outside and plays physical when the ball is in the air. He’s got good speed to put pressure on the back end of the defense and can win contested grabs. He brought in 2 TDs in week 5 and continues to show the traits that stand out. I like the way he’s using his size and speed to make plays down the field. He’s got the traits and seems like a guy with a very high upside.

Amare Newberry Amare Newberry 6'1" | 165 lbs | WR Boone County | 2028 State KY is a sure-handed, shifty option for Boone County out wide. Newberry is one of the more physical wideouts in his class, and has demonstrated his ability to shed the block from a jamming DB before seamlessly jumping into his route. His footwork is great, which aids his route-running abilities. Newberry can stop on a dime to help create separation, which is most effectively displayed on comebacks, slants, and in routes. In 11 games as a sophomore, Newberry caught 23 passes for 417 yards (18.1 ypc) for four touchdowns. He also fields kickoffs.

Amare Newberry Amare Newberry 6'1" | 165 lbs | WR Boone County | 2028 State KY is a player who caught my attention when breaking down sophomore year film. He does a great job of using his speed and smooth breaks in his routes to create separation from opposing defensive backs. Newberry is also dangerous after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes into big gains. As a sophomore, Amare led his team in receiving with 23 catches for 417 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. Newberry is a player who college coaches should begin to have on their radar this summer.
