Lankfard looked good early in the game. He made a quick throw on the move into the flat. He did it again a few plays later, and this time, it turned into a fifteen-yard gain. The senior continued to throw some nice short passes early. Later, he used his speed to the corner on a pair of runs. He showed off his arm with two nice deep balls down the sidelines. One pass went for 40 yards. The second pass picked up 25 yards. Late in the game, he used his legs to pick up a first down and then capped off a drive with a five-yard touchdown run. On defense, Lankfard defended a throw-back screen by avoiding the blocker and making an open-field tackle. He read another screen and made a tackle immediately after the catch for a short gain.

has pumped out some major production so far in 2024, totaling 344 passing yards and 5 TDs and 60 rushes for 425 yards and 6 TDs on the ground. He’s also added 41 tackles, 2 TFLs, 2 FFs, and an interception he returned for six as well. Impressive numbers through four games, and Lankfard looks more filled out and powerful than in 2023. He opens his tape with a 100-yard interception return for a TD on a beautiful read on a goal-line route concept against Johnson High School, and shows sideline-to-sideline range in run defense, takes good angles to the football, and is powerful at the contact point. Lankfard, as a ball carrier, easily runs through tackle attempts and has improved his contact balance yet again, and displays noticeable burst, shifty cuts, and an overall aggressive on-field demeanor. Still uncommitted. NSIC schools need to get on this kid!

104th prephoops.com Lankfard is a complete football player. He has good speed when running the ball from the quarterback spot. But his vision in the open field is what sets him apart. His vision compliments his ability to make quick cuts at full speed. He has solid power in his running. He isn’t going to truck many defenders, but an arm tackle rarely brings him down. His athletic ability in the open field makes him a danger with his feet and allows him to gain separation, allowing him to use his strong arm to push the ball deep down the field. While his biggest asset is his legs, when Lankfard stands in the pocket, he throws a solid deep ball. As a corner, he is a physical hitter with good ball skills. On the court, he was off to a great start – averaging nearly 20 points a game during the season’s first month.

I just broke down the St. Paul Central and 651 standout sophomore Lankfard for the Top Newcomers feature for PRzMN, so I’ll keep this eval. shorter in order to not repeat myself. As a QB and utility defender (OLB/DB mix), Lankfard was dangerous and productive as a read-option QB, with a larger capacity to hurt defenders with his legs. His vision and quick feet made him especially dangerous when a play broke down and things got chaotic, and he was able to make something out of nothing more than a few times in 2022. As a defensive athlete, the name of his game was physicality, where he was a standout and thrived when tackling and getting off blocks. At 6’1, 175 lbs., I’d bet (right now at this point in time) that safety may be his best spot in college, but a lot depends on how he continues to grow and add weight, and I could also see WR or OLB as a potential landing spot on the gridiron. No matter what, I’m excited to see it, and with the quality of athletes the Minutemen have put out over the years I think the state of MN should be excited as well.

A product of the 651 and St. Paul Central High School, who has seen NFL talent developed in the halls of the Minutemen since I’ve been around the MN high school game and has seen no shortage of athletes ball out on their football and basketball squads. The latest edition of this trend is dual-sport standout Allan Lankfard, who rounds out our Top-30 and has a ton of room to continue climbing in the rankings. A do-it-all utility player on the gridiron, I think Lankfard projects best to DB in college, but you can’t talk about him as a sophomore without mentioning his offensive propensity for the Minutemen. A lethal rusher as a read-option QB, Lankfard is shifty, mobile, and sees the field well, and does a great job of buying time and improvising when things break down. Defensively, he lined up all over the place, from the edge of the DL out to the perimeter of the secondary, and his physicality as a tackler and when disengaging from blocks really standouts out on film. I’d love to see him at safety in the future at the college ranks but love his versatility right now as a prep. He’s a prospect I’ll be making sure to keep a close eye on for the next two seasons. Lankfard is also having a strong sophomore season on the hardcourt as well. Kid is an athlete.
