In what was a tough 2024 season for the Bobcats, Smitherman put together a solid all-around performance. The junior rushed for 188 yards, caught five balls for 149 and three touchdowns, had 2.0 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery, and averaged 21.8 yards on 12 kick returns. Smitherman flashes the potential to help a college program in multiple areas, as he shows during his 11th-grade highlight video. He could fit on either side of the ball and certainly add value on special teams. A good athlete, Smitherman has the size and instincts to make plays with the ball in his hands. That said, his skill set could shine most at safety or slot corner.
