was impressive from the jump yesterday, he really turned some heads with his outing. Many times throughout the session I had college coaches come up to me to acknowledge how highly they thought of his work. Cain threw the ball very well in the 1v1 portion, it was a close call between him and Smith for our MVP. He is sure to be among high on D3 schools wish list and his outing yesterday only helped him.

had his best season yet as a senior for the Indians which placed him among the Top 12 passers in this class. He’s an athletic option at quarterback who had the potential as an ATH in the rankings but shows enough promise as a passer to play that position at the next level. Cain threw for 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns to 5 interceptions this season while flashing that athletic ability we mentioned with 900 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns. A D3 program running an RPO offense would benefit from Cain’s talent and need to offer him as he’s yet to post his first on social media.

has had a strong first half of his senior season for the Indians and has been one of the more productive quarterbacks in the state this season.
The dual-threat quarterback has gotten it done with both his arm and his legs through the first five weeks and has put up impressive stats each game. Cain and the Indians’ offense have been able to open up the passing game more this season and he’s continuing to develop as a passer on top of his innate running ability. He’s a very good scrambler and does a great job of extending plays and making something out of nothing consistently. Cain should be a sought-after small college prospect with D3 opportunities.

did all he could to try and earn a victory. It appears he’ll be able to spread the ball out more this season and open up the passing game with 220 yards and 3 touchdowns to open his senior season which they weren’t able to do as much in 2023 with some young receivers. Now a year older, Cain and the offense can open things up so defenses can’t key on his running ability which he still showcased with 75 yards and a 4th score. Cain’s arm looks stronger this season and keep following his and the Indians’ season as they continue to build and get better each week.

will return for his senior season for Berkeley Springs after putting together a quality junior campaign during a tough year for the Indians. We’ve liked the 6’3 175 QB for a while now ever since he took over midseason of his sophomore year in 2022. Now with a full season as the starter under his belt, Cain can work over the off-season creating a better rapport with his young receivers to develop the Indians’ passing game further heading into year two of the Wes Eddy era. Length is an obvious trait of Cain’s that stands out immediately, but he’s also an athletic quarterback who could flirt with the dual-threat label. Berkeley Springs relied heavily on his running ability in 2023 to no surprise as he’s one of the better athletes on the team. Cain’s arm can also hurt defenses as a touch thrower who can stand in the pocket to deliver strikes when he has time. Cain can also roll out and throw accurately on the run with scrambling and make-you-miss ability from the pocket to extend plays. He’s at his best on short and intermediate throws whose arm strength will improve as he gets stronger.
We should see progress and more of a sample size of his arm in 2024 with another year of development for him and his receivers as he and the Indians should take a step forward this upcoming season.

who earned WVSWA Class AA Honorable Mention All-State honors as a junior this season. Cain took over as the full-time QB1 this season after seeing time later in his sophomore season. He’s a nice-sized quarterback at 6’3 175 who isn’t a burner but certainly can make plays with his legs while running a lot of option in their system. Their personnel dictated more of a focus on the running game this season, but Cain flashed some arm talent when they did air it out. He does a nice job buying time inside and outside the pocket and has the ability to throw well on the run. Cain is accurate on short and intermediate passes with the versatility to throw with touch or zip. Downfield throws are a work in progress for a variety of reasons and that’s an area that if he improves on next season, will raise his ceiling further.

will be QB1 this season for Berkeley Springs and he appears to have a bright future for the position. Cain took over the QB position in the latter half of the 2022 season and with a full off-season under his belt he should have a breakout junior year. Cain has very good height at 6’3 and he’ll keep filling out his long frame as he gets older. Although film is limited of him last season, Cain has the scrambling ability to take off and run if needed but I probably wouldn’t categorize him as a true dual-threat QB. From watching his Twitter clips from this summer, Cain has a big arm and throws with nice touch. He puts a nice arc on his deep throws and lays it right in his receiver’s hands. I’m excited to see how he does with a full year starting and going into the season as QB1.
