The William and Mary commit is having an excellent final season for Coach Cockerham, one that may lead to a .500 finish.

Reid is part of tight end renaissance in Northern Virginia which includes 4 seniors that are destined for the FCS level or higher.

The All conference performer is a reliable target especially as Mcneil gets more and more comfortable in the offense. Watching him run routes in person Reid is a pain to cover and will only be more difficult to game plan against with the new weapons on offense.

One of the top pass catchers as a junior, Reid’s recruitment has exploded this off-season with over 10 Division 1 offers. Watching him a couple weeks back, I could tell he is ready to play at the next level. His route running and technique is nearly perfect and he is a stout run blocker. Congrats to Aidan and his family as I am sure they wanted to get his commitment out of the way so he can focus on Mclean’s potential playoff run.

I had to get a close look at FBS prospect Aidan Reid Aidan Reid 6'5" | 235 lbs | TE McLean | 2026 State VA on Saturday and of course he did not disappoint. Reid clearly looks ready to play at the next level, check out the space he creates on the route below. Up to 10 Division 1 offers, his route running is superb and his blocking is on point too. Expect the Highlanders to be very competitive and to control the clock offensively this fall. When you have Reid and Cafer as your potential tight ends, no reason they cannot dominate.

Who says Major institutions do not recruit Mclean High School athletes? Certainly is not the case with star tight end Aiden Reid receiving multiple Division 1 offers within the last few weeks. The 6’5 agile tight end has picked up FBS offers from Colgate, Columbia, Maine and Towson. More are on the way for the Highlanders all star, Reid is one of the best tight ends in the state.

Mclean’s powerhouse tight end Aidan Reid Aidan Reid 6'5" | 235 lbs | TE McLean | 2026 State VA is no stranger to us at Prep RedZone as we have been high on him for over a year now. Recently he saw offers come through from William & Mary along with Columbia University. As a junior he nearly had 500 receiving yards from his tight end position and figures to have a monster senior season for the Highlanders.

Junior tight end Aidan Reid Aidan Reid 6'5" | 235 lbs | TE McLean | 2026 State VA is not being talked about enough, the kid catches everything thrown in his direction. 6’5 and 215 lbs. he can create separation and is an exceptionally route runner. Playing for the Mclean Highlanders Reid nearly has 400 yards receiving thru 5 games. If the Highlanders are serious about the postseason this fall, Reid needs to be priority number 1 moving forward.

In my 2026 TE Rankings Breakdown article, I mentioned how Aidan was a split out TE for McLean. In this season, we are seeing aligning in-line in addition to split-out, and he is looking good. His receiving skills are still there and he put up 6 receptions, 94 yards, and 1 TD, averaging 15.66 yards per reception in Week 2. While one reception was for 43 yards, he was especially good at short arrow routes out of his in-line position that played a key role in the Highlanders moving their offense. His run blocking also looked good as he would engage and drive his assignments, and even showed the ability to finish his assigned block and look for more downfield.

Good height and weight. Solid athletic ability with good change of direction, solid acceleration, foot speed, and lateral agility. Plays as a split-out WR for his high school, running Seams, Fades, Comebacks, Hitch, and Out routes. Solid route runner with solid release off the line of scrimmage into his route, using his size and physicality to his advantage to keep defensive backs from pressing him. Shows good adjust to the ball in the air and can position himself to keep the defender from deflecting the pass showing good hands to secure the catch. He can high point the ball in the air, and has the strength to secure the catch through contact. Solid ability to create yards after the catch with his good run strength and physical toughness to fight for extra yards.  He is a willing blocker downfield and able to seal off DBs to create lanes for the ball carrier. Overall, he is a solid player who has good size for the position with the flexibility to develop his skills as a Tight End or play as a large WR and could receive some FCS offers due to his upside.
