I remember last year right around this time when McLean Head Coach Joe Cockerham told me about his awesome pass rusher Alex Cafer and he was right. Toledo offered the young man last week making two division 1 offers. Cafer is now 6’3 with long reach at 225 lbs..

Cafer is the real deal and will play both defensive and tight end as a junior. Recently ranked in our 2027 top 300, Alexander Cafer Alexander Cafer 6'3" | 225 lbs | EDGE/TE McLean | 2027 State VA is a pain to block with his long reach and brute strength. I could see him getting more receptions this year on offense too. Teams are going to be game planning exclusively on Reid, do not sleep on his pass catching ability.

Alexander Cafer Alexander Cafer 6'3" | 225 lbs | EDGE/TE McLean | 2027 State VA is going to be an all conference defensive end and you will learn more about him for his work at tight end in 2025 too. Yesterday you could see his potential with a number of good contested catches. Coach Cockerham told me beforehand he expects big things from the rising junior and I could see why. Cafer is 6’2 and will be a relentless force on both sides of the ball this fall.
