Not many in the Peach State have recently had a hotter streak on the recruiting trail than Rome’s

and for good reason. McPherson played out of his mind in the 2025 season and soon after he started to really catch attention from D1 programs across the Country. McPherson’s ability to adjust quickly from standing in the pocket to maneuvering his way out of trouble to extend plays is second to none at his position in the state of Georgia. He has the ability to deliver the ball down field to his targets from the pocket, or he can get gone in a hurry to hurt defenses. He enters the 2026 season as one of the state’s best and as one of Rome High Footballs leaders.
Recruitment: McPherson has recently picked up offers from Navy, West Virgina, Marshall, Jax State University, East Carolina, Boston College, Georgia State and several more.
McPherson is committed to Duke University.

The Rome Wolves are in great hands, as the talented gunslinger has done everything right this offseason. He went from being underrated to now being a Duke verbal pledge. McPherson is a rare mix of arm strength and speed. His frame isn’t favorable, which is the only thing holding him back, but the season is quickly approaching, and it is safe to say that he will be one of the players worth watching, as he is already in the top-five, but it would come as no shock if he finds a way to crack the top-3 in my opinion. Keep an eye on this gunslinger.

One of the biggest risers throughout the newest rankings update, McPherson jumps all the way into the top 65 overall. The playmaking junior is fresh off a dominant junior season for the Rome Wolves where he threw for just over 3,000 yards and 31 touchdowns through the air. A terrific runner with natural speed, McPherson also took off for over 960 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground. He was one of the more productive quarterbacks across the state last year in the 2027 class and is now ranked by Prep Redzone as the No. 5 QB prospect in the state. He earned a new recent offer from Michigan and should see more come his way soon.

The quarterback from Rome did a great job on Saturday. He was the most accurate player when it came to the entire event, as he was awarded with this at the end of camp. McPherson is only going to improve with more reps ahead of this next season, as he searches for a college to take his commitment. He has a great deal of speed and will be one of the better prospects on the move. By nature, people will question his height, but if he is as accurate as he was on Saturday, he will earn a spot somewhere without question.

Showcase season is about answering questions, and McPherson did exactly that. When you turn on the tape, you get a clear look at a dual-threat QB prospect, but watching him up close confirms it. He has filled out better than I expect, looking the part of a physical runner. A PR of sub 11 in the 100M also paints the picture for the caliber of athlete he is. He is an explosive passer with quick, efficient mechanics. He creates easy velocity on the ball, and on tape, he showcases the ability to touch deep pockets of the field with finesse. It’s been a big offseason for McPherson, who will receive a big rankings boost for us.

McPherson has been well covered from our PRZ Stock Up Tour this past weekend, so here is a snippet of my write-up on him from yesterday:
“McPherson, coming off a breakout spring, was one of the more high-profile prospects at our event, and he backed up the hype. He was a physical outlier in the QB group and weighed in much bulkier and filled out than I expected. He has tight, clean mechanics, creating easy spin and velocity on the ball. McPherson is a true dual-threat with the ability to break the game, and he heads into his senior season with good footing.”

As one of the top performers in the PRZ Winter Showcase, McPherson showcased quickness, explosiveness and elusiveness during the drills. What he was able to do throwing the ball really showed others how strong of an arm he actually has. His size impressed and his release of the football was impressive to others. I have watched Aidan up close in person many, many times and he has taken some of the biggest strides of any I have seen from 2024 to 2025, and I expect the same thing in year 2026!

One of the more productive quarterbacks across the state of Georgia last season, McPherson should see a giant bump in his next Prep Redzone ranking after a dominant junior season where he was named
Region 5-5A Player of The Year. The playmaking Rome quarterback threw for 3,096 yards and 31 touchdowns. He also made big plays with his legs, rushing for 964 yards and 15 touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback has easy Power Four potential and recently earned a D1 offer from East Carolina. He’s one of the more productive 2027 quarterbacks across North Georgia with the potential to have a dominant senior season in 2026.

is a talent that I wrote about before he ever took a starting snap for the Rome Wolves. A matter of fact, nobody really knew who he was… YET! I saw him up close make big plays at their team spring game and McPherson quickly burst onto the scene as a playmaker at the signal caller position. This past year,

did nothing but make huge plays and he did it through the air and on the ground. He’s going to have a monster showcase, and you’ll be able to see up close what I have been able to witness up close many, many times. McPherson has been busy in the recruiting world lately, picking up offers from Boston College, Duke, Princeton, KSU, Georgia State among others.
