McFarland is a key player for Taylor High School. The 6-foot, 175-pound receiver can make acrobatic catches and take direct snaps in the wildcat formation. McFarland shows excellent adjustment to the ball in the middle of the air and bounces off defenders after the catch for positive gains after contact.

Mcfarland had a great freshman season for the Yellow Jackets. He played both wide receiver on offense and cornerback on defense. On offense he had 31 catches for 786 yards and 8 touchdowns. On defense he had 17 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception with a 28-yard return. Taylor is a twitchy receiver who gets clean releases. In the open field he has easy speed and consistently runs past defenders. McFarland is really good at tracking the ball and using his hands to keep position to make the play on the ball. He’s really good on contested catches for a freshman. In the run game he’s a tenacious blocker. Most of the plays in his film are vertical where he uses his speed to win. As he continues to develop and add to his repertoire as a route runner, he’s going to become an elite high school receiver.
