gave everything he had in his final game for Somerville, delivering his best performance as a high school quarterback. He showcased his complete skill set, excelling as a passer and a runner. Through the air, Pacheco went 19-for-34 for 232 yards and three touchdowns, showing accuracy at all field levels. He added nine carries for 40 yards and a rushing touchdown on the ground. His ability to push the ball downfield and use his legs as a weapon demonstrated his versatility as a dual-threat quarterback. While his effort wasn’t enough to secure the win, Pacheco’s performance was a fitting cap to his impressive career.

delivered an incredible performance for Somerville in their playoff battle against Mainland. The senior quarterback accounted for all four of Somerville’s touchdowns, throwing three and rushing for one. Pacheco showed his ability to stretch the field with pinpoint accuracy on deep passes, keeping Mainland’s defense on edge all night. He showcased his dual-threat ability in overtime, scoring on a clutch rushing touchdown during Somerville’s first possession. Although his effort wasn’t enough to secure the win, Pacheco’s dynamic playmaking and determination made it one of his most memorable performances as a high school quarterback.

stands out as one of the most gifted athletes at the quarterback position in New Jersey. At 6’4” and 195 pounds, he’s easily in the top tier, boasting a combination of size and skill that few can match. His arm strength is arguably unmatched in the state, as his tape clearly shows him consistently launching deep balls to his top target, Josh Rodriguez. There’s virtually no window Brenden can’t hit, whether he’s operating from the pocket or on the move. This ability to push the ball downfield, regardless of his positioning, sets him apart from the competition.
However, for Brenden to truly make his mark this season, he needs to focus on a few key areas. First, he must become more consistent in the pocket, particularly in terms of awareness and presence. His arm is a major weapon, but to maximize its impact, Brenden needs to refine his pocket skills. Secondly, accuracy is critical. With his powerful arm, he must become more precise on a down-to-down basis.
Last year, Brenden put up impressive numbers, and there’s every reason to believe he’ll do the same this season. As he enters his senior year, he currently has no offers on the table. Yet, with his arm talent and downfield attack capabilities, it’s hard to imagine a program not taking notice and giving him a chance. Brenden has all the tools to turn heads and secure a spot at the next level.

: I watched him compete live in game action, saw him ball out at camps, and even was invited to a Somerville High School workout this offseason. That said, I would be lying if I said that I did not see his ascension coming. Pacheco has the size and frame to be a FBS quarterback with the arm strength – a 60 yard rope – to boot. Film shows that Pacheco moves well in the pocket, particularly laterally, and even gets creative when the pressure breaks the pocket and he is forced to improvise. His deep ball magistry is equally as worrisome for defensive coordinators as it is mouth-watering for college recruiters. In the same break Pacheco can slice a defense with sharp, commanding throws into tight windows when he needs to. This command, similarly, extends to his ability to throw on the run. The precision in which Pacheco delivers a ball – both in situations where only his guy can make play on it and in places where his target can accrue YAC – is an attribute that separates good high school quarterbacks from legitimate prospects Something implied about these same attributes is that it shows his unwavering faith in his teammates to make plays. He has a quick release and also activates his lower half – hence the immense arm talent. Lastly, Pacheco seems awfully careful with the ball. To start the season he went a long time without throwing an interception (1 interception in 137 pass attempts across 6 games, with that pick coming sometime during the sixth game).

- t
- Can throw the ball 60 yards without issue; throws deep ball extremely well
- Possesses good footwork and mobility in the pocket; gets creative in the pocket at times
- Has arm strength to put ball into tight spaces, although does not always do so
- Careful with the ball; went five straight games without a pick, throwing only 3 all year
- Puts the ball accurately on his receivers both on the run, when under pressure, and across his body
- Willing to tuck it and run; applies 5 points of pressure to ball when doing so
- Places ball where only his guys can make a play, great deal of confidence in them to do so; want to see him lead receivers more so they can get YAC
- Has not shown to step up in the pocket or hit many intermediate or in-breaking routes on film

, played the position well all year as he threw for 1912 yards and tossed it to end zone 15 times. Another mobile QB added to the list, I was really impressed with Brenden’s athleticism in the pocket. He was able to maneuver around and evade tacklers as he gave his receivers time to get open. And when it came to tucking it and running, he was able to lower the shoulder and churn his feet for extra yards. Arguably the strongest arm on the list, Brenden stood composed in the pocket all season long and tossed it deep with ease.

Another player I was fortunate enough to see in person, Pacheco is extremely talented and has bonafide FBS size. On the season the Pioneers’ quarterback was 137 of 236 for 1888 yards with 15 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions. Pacheco had a long streak of 5 games before throwing his first interception of the season. A keep-you-honest type of rusher, he had just 168 carries on the season but scored 5 times. Pacheco has an extremely strong arm that can reach any spot on the field. He does a nice job throwing toward the boundary too, without his ball forcing his target to drift into the sideline.

is one of the top deep ball throwers in his class out of the state. He comes equipped with a strong arm that allows him to toss the deep ball with ease. Time and time again you will see him make 50+ yard throws look like nothing. He is also able to deliver a pass with a lot of zip on it, getting it to the receiver before a defender can get in the way. With 1415 yards and 13 touchdowns in 7 games, look for Brenden to inch close to the 2000 yard mark this season.
