Cobb County QBs To Know In 2021

If there’s one place across the country that produces quarterbacks, it’s Cobb County. The metro-Atlanta county if full of talent each year and has recently produced the likes of Justin Fields, Bailey Hockman, Harrison Bailey, and more. Clemson QB and former 5-star QB Trevor Lawrence also played youth football in Cobb County. As good as the are has been recently, it appears the future is exceptionally bright as well. There are multiple QBs in the county with Power 5 potential and one in particular could end up as a five-star prospect down the road. Here are a few QBs in Cobb County to know moving forward. &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="34008" first="Malachi" last="Singleton"] - North Cobb</strong> The 6-foot-2 215-pounder from Kennesaw led the Warriors to an incredible season where they went 10-2 with big wins over Buford, Walton, Hillgrove, and Marietta. Singleton looked like a young Justin Fields with his strong arm and ability to make plays with his legs. The breakout 2023 star passed for 2,710 yards last year with 32 TDs.  On the ground, Singleton carried the ball 191 times for 1,091 yards and 17 more TDs. He was named Region 3 Offensive Player of the Year, which led to offers from Georgia, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, among others. The 2020 Marietta Dailey Journal Player of the Year is an elite talent who should make a big impact through the air and on the ground at the next level. He has two more years at North Cobb, and he’ll have the Warriors in a position to make a state championship run over the next few years. &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="33915" first="Tyler" last="Hughes"] - Marietta</strong> It’s tough to fill the shoes of former Blue Devil state champion Harrison Bailey at quarterback, but Hughes made the transition a little easier after an impressive junior season. This past fall, Hughes passed for 2,703 yards and 28 TDs in Marietta’s pass-happy offense. The 6-foot-1 205-pounder also made plays with his legs, rushing for 535 yards and 8 touchdowns. He’s fundamentally sound and works incredibly hard in the offseason to perfect his craft. He continues to get better each day and has the arm and overall skillset to lead the Blue Devils to a big season in 2021. &nbsp; <strong>Zac Rozsman - Walton</strong> The junior from Walton is a good-looking prospect who took another step forward as a junior. The multi-year starter showed big play ability last fall as a junior where he passed for 1,741 yards and 12 TDs. The overall statistics won;t blow you away, but he showed on Friday nights that he can make plays in clutch moments. He also made plenty of plays on the ground this season, rushing for 304 yards and 7 touchdowns. The Radiers didn’t have the season that they expected, but they also played one of the toughest schedule’s in the state. Rozsman played against some of the state’s best defenses all year and proved that he has Power 5 potential. &nbsp; <strong>Chase McCravy – Hillgrove</strong> The freshman standout is starting to become a household name in the metro-Atlanta area after a solid first season at Hillgrove. The athletic QB earned the starting role and played extremely well for someone his age in the 7A class. The 6-foot-0 175-pounder’s best game this season came against a really talented Westlake defense where he was 14/19 for 289 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-21 win. He’s got an accurate arm and shows great footwork for someone his age. He’s technically sound, he has a quick release, and his arm will get stronger as he gets older and his arm continues to develop.
