Scott isn’t short of offensive playmakers and 2025 WR/DB Brayden Clark Brayden Clark 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Scott | 2025 State WV is their deep play threat who performed that role at a very high level last season. The 6’2 wideout averaged over 26 yards per catch as a junior with 10 touchdowns and just under 1,000 receiving yards. His combination of length and speed makes him a matchup problem for opposing corners and gives them a difficult choice of deciding to press him or play off coverage. Clark is very good at running under go balls and catches them in perfect stride consistently. He’s a very good safety blanket for quarterbacks who can just chuck it up to him, especially in single coverage, and let him go make a play.
Clark is a tremendous DB in his own right and picked off 8 passes last season which will put him on the Carl Lee Award watch list as the state’s top defensive back.

The early frontrunner for best deep ball receiver in the 2025 class has to be Scott’s Brayden Clark Brayden Clark 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Scott | 2025 State WV who I believe led the state in average yards per catch in 2023, especially among receivers with his type of production. Clark averaged 26.1 yards per catch as a junior for the Skyhawks and caught 35 passes for 912 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s a long receiver at 6’3 170 who has very good straight-line speed. You’d like to see more diversity in his route tree outside of go balls and deep posts which hurts his ranking a bit, but he’s as good as they come getting open on those 9 routes. That playmaking ability also translates to the defensive side of the ball where he had 8 interceptions and 12 PBUs this season from his safety position. Scott will be breaking in a new QB1 in 2024 but look for Clark to continue to have big-time production in their spread offense.

Another Scott Skyhawk who has impressed in their high-flying spread offense is junior Brayden Clark Brayden Clark 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Scott | 2025 State WV . Clark is their big-bodied receiver in a very talented group of pass catchers and he’s currently second on the team in receiving yards. In five games, Clark has 16 catches for an impressive 415 yards and three touchdowns for a 25.9 yards per catch average. The 6’3 170 junior has games of 30.8, 42, and 83 yards per catch averages and is clearly their big play receiver over the top. Clark is a go-ball specialist and although you’d like to see a more diverse route tree in his midseason highlights, he’s been excellent at creating separation and catching the ball in stride. I’m sure he’s plenty capable of doing so and that’s how his coaches want to use him with their smaller receivers doing the underneath and intermediate work.
