Jayden Cowart Jayden Cowart 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB/RB Liberty Christian Academy | 2026 State VA ‘s final season for LCA could not have gone better and he only needed 5 carries to rush for four rushing touchdowns! Liberty Christian Academy made light work of Rustburg so Cowart and most of the starters may have only played a quarter or so. The Elon commit didn’t need much to make his presence know.

Cowart is a safety who’s proven he can make plays against both the run and pass. I’m impressed with the plays in his highlights that show his range and closing speed. Is he the most significant safety? No. However, he easily cancels that out with his physical play, instincts in pass coverage, and consistency in taking proper pursuit angles to the football. Cowart excels at both delivering physical tackles and breaking down in space to avoid missing tackles.

Arguably the most technically sound defensive back present. The second-highest ranking DB too, easily one of the best junior safety prospects in all of Virginia, he’s ranked #31 because of the Corner/Nickel/Safety grouping. Despite all of this, Cowart is likely to see a jump in rank regardless.

Cowart trusts both his athletic ability and his technique. Cowart pays a good deal of attention to detail while on the field. The kid is observant of leverage pre-snap, he’s observant of nuances displayed by wideouts. Cowart understands what to expect based on who he’s aligned against and where he’s at on the field. Long story short, if I didn’t drive this point home yet, Cowart is everything you want in a backend safety prospect.

5’11, 180 pounds. A 3.9 GPA at Liberty Christian Academy. Ranked just a hair shy outside of a Division One grade, yet scheduled to rise on our ranks like previously mentioned. On of the few DBs present who actually incorporated a backpedal into his reps. Dispalyed fantastic route recognition. With pads and on the field, this is a kid I want working in my secondary ten out of ten times.

Looking forward to watch Jayden Cowart Jayden Cowart 6'0" | 180 lbs | DB/RB Liberty Christian Academy | 2026 State VA with the defensive backs group, he is on the radar of many major institutions. Love this kid’s motor, I would imagine him testing very well on Sunday. He is also coming a state title run where he became a lockdown corner as the season progressed. Plenty of opportunities for him this weekend, look for him to battle during the 1vs1 portion.

My colleague recently covered Jayden’s film at the Running Back position, and today I am looking at his film at Safety. I continue to be impressed by Jayden’s ability to process the field and put himself in a position to affect the play. He has very good range out of his safety position making him a difficult player to throw against. He also loves to come downhill and play physical against short passes and the run. When it comes to the Safety position amongst Defensive Backs, he is one of the best in his class, and we will get to see him back for his senior season next year.

Already a star at free safety, Cowart looks poised to take over, he is fast and very physical. My hunch is he will be playing in the secondary at the next level, but his senior season for the Bulldogs will be fun to watch regardless.
