Georgia Future Stars Breakdown: 7th Grade Quarterback (2028)

Household names such as former No.1 overall NFL draft pick and current Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, have made this team and event a special one. The evaluators and coaching staff that put together the Georgia Future Stars do a great job of balancing skill sets and showcasing what the future of football will look like. Listed on the roster at 5-foot-8 and 130 pounds with long legs, that resembles a wide receiver more than a quarterback. He's on the roster at 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds and has some nice zip on the ball. We saw him (and [player_tooltip player_id='410856' first='Cannon' last='Robinson']) at the PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp in Georgia this spring and came away excited for his ability. Prior to the PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp, he had a masterful regular season. Wood is directly out of the 404 (Atlanta) and from what I see on tape, I love the way this kid plays the game of football. I've never seen him play live, or even talked to him for that matter, but any time a Quarterback throws a screen pass and then becomes a lead blocker--how can you not love it? Based off strictly his film, it looks like he has a good presence in the pocket and gets the ball out quickly to his weapons. I look forward to getting a closer look at him in June.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
