The class of 2026 has been identifying players who have been making their presence felt on the varsity stage. Though young, we've identified a few sophomores who fit the bill. Let's take a closer look at the newcomers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1193079' first='Xavier' last='Harmon'] I 2026 I ATH I 6'2 172 I Conroe

[player_tooltip player_id='1193079' first='Xavier' last='Harmon'] is a super long athlete who has played every position from running back, receiver, and safety. This two-sport athlete also moonlights as a point guard on the basketball team. This mixed skillset has allowed Harmon to raise his game enough to get the call up from JV to varsity for the Conroe Tigers as a free safety. He is inked in as the heir apparent to 3-star senior safety and Texas State commit [player_tooltip player_id='413193' first='Tice' last='Williams']. Harmon passes the eye test and technique quota with his 6'2 frame and speed. Look for him to make some noise going forward as the game continues to slow down for him.

Maxwell Garfield I 2026 I ATH I 6'2 165 I Paulding County

Maxwell Garfield is another 6'2 long and rangy athlete who has exceptional ball skills. Tape shows that Maxwell Garfield is comfortable playing in space and understands angles in tandem with leverage for route running and coverage. Garfield is ball plucker. This means that he is more prone to go get the ball at its apex. Garfield is aggressive to the ball and displays breakaway speed to turn the good play into the great play. As a varsity player, Garfield will continue to be utilized as a two-way playmaker, but the question will be what college programs project him as. I project free safety due to his aggressive nature, but time will tell. Remember the name Maxwell Garfield.

Jamicah Jones I 2026 I WR I 5'10 155 I Summer Creek HS

Jamicah Jones is a complete high school receiver right now as a sophomore. He is crafty in his route running and stays under his pads in and out of breaks. Jones plays for the Texas powerhouse program of Summer Creek where athletes pop up quicker than a hiccup. He has the acceleration to get out of breaks and get away from his defender after the catch with ease. Jones has no quarrels about snagging receptions in traffic and knows how to position his body against the big hits. Jones is a flat-out competitor with a skillset that translates to potential all district value and beyond as his game continues to evolve and he gains strength.

Zane Farmer I 2026 I ATH I 5'9 160 I West Fork HS

Zane Farmer is a speedy defensive back who understands that leverage and speed kills. Farmer thrives in coverage due to his ability to recover. This allows him to take gambles on his breaks on the ball. Farmer knows how to squeeze the stem of the nine route against receivers which ultimately turns deep balls into 50/50 opportunities in contrast to game changing bombs. Farmer is a willing tackler and is great against the stalk block. Look for him to continue to utilize that track speed to make plays while developing his overall IQ. This kid is definitely recruitable.
