There’s a good chance it might be 2013 all over again for Owatonna. The Huskies are coming off a state tournament appearance and have a dozen total starters returning from last year’s squad. Four years ago, coach Jeff Williams had a similar number of returnees and the Huskies dominated, finishing with an undefeated season and state championship.
Alex Raichle and Jason Williamson will be one of the best playmaking duos in Class AAAAA. Raichle is Owatonna’s big play threat at receiver and a ball-hawking cornerback, while Williamson should again be the Huskies workhorse out of the backfield. Williamson also starts at safety on defense.
The key to the Huskies success next season will hinge on their offensive and defensive lines. Tackles Terrel Conner and Kadyn Mulert are the lone starters back on offense. Mulert might be asked to play defense as well, because the Huskies will have to replace both Chandler Buckhalter and Goy Tut in the middle.
