Continue ReadingPerry-Wright is very consistent from snap to snap. Fires out with a solid pad level when playing with his hand in the dirt. Functional strength is very good, experiencing little trouble controlling blocks on early downs. Sets a solid edge in the run game; easily digs in and anchors at the line of scrimmage. Does a good job of keeping his shoulders square. Gets good extension with his arms to lock out opponents.
Khaleed Latimore
Khaleed Latimore
Latimore runs a mix of routes to different levels of the field, with a mix of screens, crosses, hitches, overs, and deeper patterns. Has relatively clean, simple releases to get off the line against press. Has solid speed to threaten down the seams or across the field on over routes. Shows impressive suddenness, sells routes well at the stem to freeze defenders and create throwing windows and has some snap to his routes.
Garrett Hess
Garrett Hess
Hess fires out of his stance reasonably low, especially for his size. Able to grind down opponents in a phone booth and generate push. Shows enough short-area quickness to chip one opponent and still engage a second player; was often asked to execute this type of assignment. Understanding of positioning in the run game is solid. Has a strong grip to put the clamps on an opponent and sustain through the whistle. Takes opportunities to finish off opponents.
Tyson is a patient runner who shows solid vision and does a good job of shuffling to find lanes. Has the agility to make defenders miss one-on-one at the second level. Overall flexibility is good. Flashes the ability to shake off defenders or move the pile once he gets going. Works in an effective stiff-arm when he’s able to get to the corner on outside rushing attempts.
Smith overall flexibility looks good, allowing him to compete in the leverage battle against smaller interior defenders. Has above-average power in his hands to generate torque and twist opponents out of the hole. Above-average short-area quickness and strong motor allowed him to execute Washington’s zone concepts well; capable of pulling or getting out in space in the screen game. Does a good job of executing chip-and-climb type assignments. Form in his pass sets looks good, with a sufficiently-wide base, good knee bend, and a straight back.
