They found what matched what they were looking for and what felt like home. Once finding that, these studs wasted little time announcing their decisions. We don’t often cover athletes once they commit, but I want to make sure we get the spotlight on them to both celebrate them and to take a look at what they are bringing to their teams.
Back on January 31 TE1 announced that he was going to be staying home to play for the home state Badgers. He is going to be such an exciting playmaker to watch develop. He has an elite frame at 6’6″ 220 lbs. The long athlete has very soft hands that allow him to maximize that length. As a receiver, Robert checks off all the boxes. He has the body control to be able to adjust to the ball in the air. If it is within his catch radius he finds a way to come down with it. Despite being a long strider, Booker is able to get into and out of his breaks quickly. After the catch, Robert is a tough tackle. He has the speed to go the distance, has a strong stiff arm, and will lower the shoulders to pick up the yards after the catch. Badgers fans should be very excited to watch Booker in the new Badgers offense.

The Badgers received the commitment from standout OL Derek Jensen Derek Jensen 6’7″ | 310 lbs | OL Arrowhead | 2024 State WI just this week on April 2. The 6’7″ 315 lbs sure looks the part of an FBS tackle. A huge frame, long arms, and the kid absolutely mauls defensive linemen. When Derek clamps those big hands down on his opponent you can consider that defender to be out of the equation. Jensen is going to be plowing open huge running lanes this fall, and that power and tenacity will be a major strength in his game at the next level. The exciting part is that he still has so much potential to develop. The tradition of a talented OL is in good hands.

The pipeline of talented DL going from Arrowhead to Iowa State continues as Jace Gilbert Jace Gilbert 6’5″ | 270 lbs | DL Arrowhead | 2024 State WI committed to the Cyclones on January 27. The 6’5″ 270 lbs already looks like an FBS DE. The big man is going to bring the strength to set the edge in the run game and he consistently uses his hands to disengage leading to his big plays. Gilbert is also an impressive athlete. His first step explosiveness gets him out of his stance and eats up the cushion between him and the OT. That athleticism carries over into the rest of the play allowing him to have the range to chase down plays. Jace is the cream of the crop when it comes to the DL here in WI. I’m excited to watch his career.

The 6’3″ 180 lbs WR committed to the Huskies on February 27. This was a huge get for the Huskies. Adrian is a very talented WR. He has that long, lean frame and uses it to create a big catch radius for his QB. Adrian isn’t just a big target. He has that track speed needed to succeed at the FBS level. He can run away from the defense in the open field, and Nicolet even gets him involved in jet sweep game where he can stretch the defense horizontally before cutting up field for big gains. Adrian really shines in the routes where he can stretch the field. Wheels, posts, corners, go’s, anything that lets him use those long strides to get downfield.

The Huskies of NIU came to WI to find length. They added the long WR above, and they also got the commitment from Baraboo DE Ross Liegel Ross Liegel 6’7″ | 225 lbs | DL Baraboo | 2024 State WI . Ross’ length is as rare as it comes. He is 6’7″ and 215 lbs. His frame is just beginning to take shape as he will be working to fill out his frame. The traits he offers are also special. His get off, body control, and light feet don’t usually come on a kid that size. Ross is so quick out of his stance, can make OTs miss with just his lateral quickness, and when he gets a glimpse of a clean release he can explode into the backfield for tackles. Ross is an athlete who will be in position for an insane breakout at the next level.
The final 2024 commitment that we have seen thus far is Winneconne DL Daniel Simon Daniel Simon 6’5″ | 255 lbs | DL Winneconne | 2024 State WI . Daniel is another prospect with a great frame. The 6’5″ DE committed to the defending FCS National Champions on February 20. Daniel is going to breakout this fall, and it will only be a glimpse into what is in store for him at the next level. His junior tape shows an athlete with a lot of building blocks to mold into a next level impact player. His get off jumps off the tape. Despite being the biggest lineman in the trenches of his film, Daniel is also the quickest out of his stance. He is also a monster on the edge. Simon has the athleticism to be able to move laterally with ease. His light feet are going to give him lateral range and his speed will give him that sideline to sideline range to make the chase down tackles. Daniel is in position for a monster senior season.
