[player_tooltip player_id='24030' first='Jamison' last='Patton'] made the move to Ankeny this past year to play alongside some of the top talent in the state.

Patton, who is headed to Iowa State University, shined brightly for the Hawks on both offense and defense, but it was in the secondary where he really made a name for himself.

Along with these other two, Patton has been honored as an all-state selection.

First Team - [player_tooltip player_id='24030' first='Jamison' last='Patton'] - Ankeny - Senior

[player_tooltip player_id='24030' first='Jamison' last='Patton'] had already proven himself by excelling at Des Moines Roosevelt, but maybe that is part of the reason Patton moved to Ankeny for his senior season. The chance to really go up against the best in practice and on each Friday night allowed him to shine even brighter, as he recorded 37 tackles with a sack and two interceptions.

Patton also displayed his incredible skills on offense, catching 62 passes for 821 yards with six touchdowns, while adding another 90 yards and a score on the ground.

Second Team - [player_tooltip player_id='300100' first='Cole' last='Rogers'] - Southeast Polk - Senior

A year after losing one of the top safeties in the country, the Southeast Polk defense looked to senior [player_tooltip player_id='300100' first='Cole' last='Rogers'] to patrol things. And patrol things is what Rogers did best. He was credited with forcing seven turnovers, including five interceptions, while also recording 39.5 tackles.

When you have someone that makes it that difficult to throw on like Rogers did for the Rams, it really turns an offense one dimensional throughout the course of the game.

Third Team - [player_tooltip player_id='105207' first='Jake' last='Anderson'] - West Des Moines Dowling - Senior

The Maroons have always been exceptionally strong on the defensive side of the ball, and with senior [player_tooltip player_id='105207' first='Jake' last='Anderson'] locking things down on one side of the field, they were among the best yet again. Anderson recorded 40 tackles with 1.5 for loss and 30 solo stops. He also showed off his hands, picking off three passes.

Anderson was the top kick returner for Dowling, averaging almost 20 yards per touch.

Honorable Mention

[player_tooltip player_id='152754' first='Makhi' last='Wilson'] of Pleasant Valley was an exceptional defensive back this past season, wile [player_tooltip player_id='320479' first='Devon' last='Sanders'] Howard from Davenport West led all of 5A with six picks. [player_tooltip player_id='247910' first='Dalyn' last='Tope'] showed his flashes for Sioux City East, returning three of his four picks back for scores.
